Baby Registry Swag

One of the nice things about registering at different stores is the swag bag you can get as a thank you. So far I've done Target & Buy Buy Baby. Each experience has been different in their own way.

With Target I signed up for a register at a kiosk first, then the person at customer service gave me a scanner and let me roam free throughout the baby section scanning everything under the sun. The Target swag bag I got at the end had few useful items like a free pacifier, Target photo credit of $20 and a $20 Shutterfly card for announcement cards. The reusable clutch will be used for keeping diapers, creams, lotions and wipes in one place in my travel bag.

Buy Buy Baby was very different. I signed up at guest services and then someone followed us throughout the store showing us all the things we knew we needed and plenty more items we didn't know we needed. This is our first child together so we are clueless about babies. It was a 2 hour process from start to end while my Target experience lasted an hour tops. I would say the Buy Buy Baby experience was more helpful for the new parent because we identified plenty of things we hadn't thought of. The swag bag we got at the end had a free bottle, samples of lotions and creams, various coupons and a baby magazine. I've been using the coupons coupled with the store coupons to save money on creams I tried and small items like a pacifer.

If I had to do this again, I would go to Buy Buy Baby first. Get some advice and tips on all the things needed and add them to my registry. Then, I'd go to Target for another registry and see where I can save a few dollars by buying the same item for cheaper at Target and where I'd have to use the Buy Buy Baby coupons to save on items Target doesn't carry. Bed Bath and Beyond coupons also work at Buy Buy Baby so that's been a great added resource for my stockpiling!
